Just back from a walk with Baxter.... tiny bit longer than normal to give him a bit more...
Walking back down our close he stopped and held his left foot up... :(
Then plonked himself down for 5 minutes for a rest.

I've always checked the right leg for a limp (as this is his arthritic leg) but I'm not expert on deciding which leg is the 'dodgy' one (if that makes sense!), so assumed when he was limping a bit, it was the right one.

Though, now, surely holding his left leg up signifies a problem with that one too? :(

I can see a trip to the specialists on the cards again :(

ETA - the title should really read 'not the left leg'...

You sound as paranoid as me :(
Could it possibly have been a thorn or stone in the pad?

I've checked his paw, just did it again - he was reluctant to give me his left paw but did, and then went to a lie-down position and soft-mouth-bit me (gently, if you know what I mean) whilst I checked it. Can't feel/see anything there...:(

I really hope he was just having a bit of an ache or he had something in his paw that fell out.
    Fingers crossed he's all OK.

Thank you Fleur... he's had a bad enough start in his short life without adding more to it - hope it is something simple & not needing treatment!
    Will keep you posted. x

He might be compensating on the other leg? Often it's the opposite diagonal, but it may also be the parallel. Give it rest and wait and see. Vie learned not to rush to the vets the first day unless its obviously really uncomfortable. Is there any heat in any of the left leg joints?
