Nova has been admitted to the vets for observation and a full blood panel. She was very lethargic this morning, refused food and water and her gums were pale.

I feel sick to my stomach and waiting for the vet to call me with results from the blood panel.

Thanks everyone. I just picked Nova up. Her bloods were all normal except her pancreas showed some inflammation. No further treatment necessary, just chicken and rice for a few days.

    Now sleeping next to me.

Oh brilliant , nothing too drastic , did the vet warn you about keeping her food / diet as low fat as possible , if her Pancreas is inflamed ?

Yes they did, although I’m unsure why because she doesn’t get anything super high in fat.

I would skip the rice. Just give her some nice poached chicken and the broth to help her system settle and heal. .

This is the first thread Ive looked at this morning, and it's not what I wanted to hear! So sorry poor Novas been poorly!
It must've been an awful, worrying few hours for you yesterday.

I'm very pleased to hear that she's had tests and there's nothing serious, what a relief! :)

I'm sure she will very much enjoy her light diet for the next few days, I mean what dog doesn't love the poached chicken diet! :Smug

Sending you all very best wishes.

What an awesome support group we have here! Thank you so much,

Nova is pretty washed out, had diarrhoea after the vet and had to trouble settling down (I think she was very overtired). She kept waking up and barking at every noise she heard, has never really done this before. Eventually she settled down and has slept on and off until now...she just got up for a wee and back to napping it is. I’m glad she had water as well.

I seriously cried my eyes out today. I thought she might have eaten something toxic that I didn’t see. I’m so tired and washed out myself, I slept for an hour this afternoon when she finally went into a deep sleep.

Here is the Little lady who cost me nearly $400.00 this week! So glad I have pet insurance though. They’ll cover most of it!
