Plant ID

    Can anyone tell me what this plant is please. It's not a great photo as it was taken through the window and zoomed into my neighbour's garden! P1020677_50%.jpg

    It looks like linaria purpurea to me in habit but it is difficult to see the shape of the flowers and leaves in that pic.

    Same here, other possible alternative is purple loosetrife, really need a closer look at the flowers.

    Don't know if it's any help, this is our Loosestrife 'Robin' ...our newer ones aren't as bushy as this one, but it does look quite similar.

    Thank you, I'll have to look out for it at the garden centre. I want some to plant near my wildlife pond.

    If it is Linaria, you may find it difficult to find the purple form since it is a wild flower. There is a pink cultivar called 'Canon Went' and several white forms. If you cannot find a plant just ask your neighbour for some seeds. They get everywhere.
