BSL is being debated in Parliament as there are many people and organisations who think it needs changing or abolishing (me included).

Unfortunately amongst the "experts" the government asked for opinions on BSL was one from PETA, who want staffies and Am Bulls ADDED to the banned breed list. Can't bloody stand PETA anyway, but this takes the biscuit.

PETA, can I have some chicken nuggets? - NO, meat is murder.
PETA, should we kill this dog because he fits some arbitrary measurements? - Yes, it's the right thing to do.

Why would such a lying horrible organisation be involved by the government. Someone must be taking a back hander.

what with PETA, and, the RSPCA , our LGB dogs dont stand a chance
( and no I will never believe a word the RSPCA says, theyve put too many bull breeds down as unrehomeable, without giving them the chance)

I did notice the other day that they posted this on their Facebook page and it was quickly deleted following the comments they received. I really have nothing other for them than utter contempt.

I'm glad people posted up as I honestly can't understand who could agree with them on this. Contempt is exactly the feeling I have.

Staffies, for g*ds sake what the matter with these people. Not me favorite breed but why pick on them, maybe they should just put all breeds on it and be done with it.

    Dont give them ideas
after all they might actually have a lightbulb moment, and realise, no matter the size or breed of the dog, they can ALL bite

the "pitt bull placebo" is a good read

"The Media, Myths and Politics of Canine. Aggression 2. Karen Delise 3. Pets/Pit Bulls/Human-animal communication "

it's available as a .pdf file .. free off the internet
(google it .. as this site probably won't allow the link to be posted )

That IS what they want. They don't believe any animal should be 'owned' so they'll look for any excuse to wipe out pets of any kind.

I'm not going to go searching for a link to the stats but I've definitely seen some which showed the shocking kill rates in PETA 'shelters' in the states. Now I do have to say that it's some years since I was following such things more closely but back when I was it seemed their beliefs led to perfectly healthy and nice natured animals being PTS rather than rehomed. They will quite happily see animals killed rather than owned.

In 2010 there was a 97% kill rate in Virginia alone...2017 was slightly better at 74% but out of 2,445 animals only 44 were adopted out.
PETA's stance is dead pets are better than any pets at all...:(

If PETA get their way then people like myself (and countless others) will be forced to exempt our dogs which means we will have a criminal record for being guilty of owning a dangerous "type"
Our dogs will not be allowed to be dogs ever again...we need to fight this all the way because they won't stop with my chosen breeds, others will join them :(

As much as think this government are idiots, I don't think they would agree with something that stupid.

You say that but PETA has one helluva following, probably mostly people who don't realise their true goals and every one claiming to be an animal lover. It wouldn't happen all at once and salami tactics work very well.

This is a problem in many areas.. the extremists are the ones who rise to the top and make the most noise getting all the media attention.. mostly doing their cause more harm than good.
