Whenever I search through new posts on a daily basis, most of the posts are of no interest to me as I come on here to learn about animals. If I wanted to know about celebrities or member's personal problems I'm sure there are plenty of sites and forums I could join - after all this site is called Petforums;)

Is it time to do away with all the sub-forums that do not directly relate to pets, which in my mind would make the whole place a more useful and informative site.

It would solve a lot of arguments - and stop the constant "I'm leaving" threads:cursing:

I think its good to have a laugh and share our problems with people that we have meet through our animals...I think its a bad idea to have it taken away...There's many of us that enjoy it..

I spose if you don't like it you could just not enter the general part of the forum and stick to the animal ones!:)

There are plenty of threads about pets and if you start a thread concerning any of your pets, it would be answered with lots of sensible answers. If you dont want to see these "General chat" threads go on dog chat! Simple...

    LOLZ !

I also only post on the pet forums, but each to ther own i guess. I think the other forums non-pet related help make us an online community, in which the personal threads can help us get to know each other.

I personally like the off topic chat sections, there we call all let our hair down and move away from other threads :)

I think its nice to have an area to chat about everyday things.

What does annoy me is people posting pet related stuff in general chat....

People do that because they will get a better response there. IE fish chat is dead so any questions usually go in general.

I think I would leave if general section was got rid of tbh!!!

I like how we use general chat to ask silly questions, advice, get to know eachother etc.
I have been a member on forums where they do not have the general section and I do find it a bit boring!

I have to say I am guilty of posting a couple of questions related to fish in general chat because the fish section is not usually that busy and I needed some answers.

Also, if there are threads you are going to be bored of, or just don't appeal to you- DON'T READ THEM!!!!!
