My 11 year old golden retriever has a pea sized perianal adenoma. The vet took a biopsy and it is benign which is a relief. However, the pathologist has recommended removal saying that these can sometiems become malignant. I had never heard of this before. She was sedated for the biopsy and I worry about anaesthetic so soon again; it is not causing her any bother. Has anyone else's dog had anything like this? Unfortunately we have a new vet who doesn't really discuss or talk us through what's happening so we're a bit uncertain.
