What is the point of teaching your child as it grows older not to interrupt when other people are talking, but when you're talking to a parent, they just interrupt the conversation anyway? Is there a point of teaching such a lesson? I mean like, seriously? If you're going to spend like months and years of teaching your daughter manners, follow through with your teachings by putting them into practice damn it!

    eeerggghhh rant over :(

I think there is a saying, something like "don't do as I do, do as I say" .... Us parents are a nightmare !!!!!

As a parent it is our duty to teach our children good manners, unfortunately we have tendency to forget our teaching!

Just bite your tongue and remember what you've been told!

I remember my mam saying that when she tried to cross the road between 2 parked cars and I said we weren't supposed to do that - "Do as I say, not as I do!"

I wish my mum had encouraged me to interrupt!

When I was little, she had a habit (and still does it sometimes) of talking for me.... if someone asks me a question, she will answer it and she did it a lot when I was little.... I think it's partly why i'm so rubbish at having conversations with people and so unconfident about talking to people, I didn't often get the chance to speak for myself, and it really annoys me.

Parents? Oh yes I know. Them that tell's you not to do what they used to do! ;)

They f@@k's you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

But they were f@@ked up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.

Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can
And don't have any kids yourself.
