Thanks guys. We have just nipped to pets at home for a new hamster cage and they spotted a black and white dutch. Was can we have it .God help me when bugsys new age arrives as i will have an empty cage then so no excuse
He is gorgeous I've never seen them in this colour before. He looks very spoiled.
Many people have mentioned that there pets at home buns have turned ill or have bites on them.
If you are going to get another bunny friend check ur local rescue center or buy from a recommended breeder. This will help ensure u get a healthy bun for the duration of its life.
Also male to female pairs tend to work better and it would be worth waiting til they are both neutered before trying to bond them. This could however fail and u could be left with 2 separate buns. where as if u get ur current neutered wait 6 week and then find a rescued neutered bun u have a better chance of a decent bonded pair and the rescue center can help u with this
2 places i dont recommend for buns.
RSPCA - Ady and TinTin (r.i.p) were from there. Ady has snuffles and they didnt tell me anything about it. i had to find out myself >.< TinTin was given to me even though (i found out) they were told he was gonna have to be pts.
P@H - Poppet and Lola were from there. Poppet has a parasite in his eye that apparently he would of had from birth and we wouldnt of noticed til when we did. Lola was from there adoption centre. They couldnt even tell me if she had been speyed or anything about her past.
I bought a guinea pig from pets at home and it ended up becoming ill so i tend to stay away from buying from there. Will probably wait till my brother has some more and have bugsys sister. Its my nephews rabbit and he has had 2 litters so far all this colour parents are both this colour. They never have any problem getting homes for babies as there is usually someone waiting for them. My mum had other 1 out of this litter
Shes identical to my first Dutch.
Florence was from a lovely show breeder, who kept his rabbits in fabulous conditions. She was slightly mismarked, and no good for showing. He never culled his buns, just rehomed them to pet home. she was a great rabbit, and lived until she was 10.
Im a Dutch addict now, although only one of my pair is a Dutch, the other is an Old English.
Its amazing how many people think they are a foriegn breed.
Lovely colour!! :001_wub:
