I've got Alsatian Tart tonight - with real Alsatian!!!
Nope I am joking, but I have a Flammenkuche Alsace or something - Lidls have a special French thing on, this is like a kind of flan thing from Alsace with cheese and bacon.

Could have been worse - they have snails on special offer too! :scared:

    Lucky you :)
How do you do your crackling? - I love pork and crackling, but I find good crackling very hit and miss when I do it

We're having this BBC - Food - Recipes: Baked chicken with rice
    Cheap, cheerful and filling ;)

score the meat, rub salt pepper and herbs into the cracks pop in over for half an hour at 220 then turn down to 180 for the rest of the cooking time 30 mins for every 500g of pork. Then once it's all cooked if the crackling still isn't right just whack it up and check ever few mins till it is!

Thats how we cook belly of pork

How odd. It's almost making me want to nip down the co-op and get the ingredients to cook chicken & rice myself!
