    :D  :D  :D

i am so amazingly happy. he went completely off lead today for the first time in months. he was incredible. we first went for a 5 minute walk on the long line where he met a pile of mouldy bread :)mad:) which was the bad part of the walk. We practiced a few recalls and he was so good that I decided to take the long line off. He was then off completely for the rest of the walk, about 30 minutes. He was fantastic. He recalled every time and I did chase games, and I was unpredictable, running off in the opposite direction when he was trotting ahead so he did a lot of running today and he's exhausted now. I got some photos too. He was brilliant. Hopefully, we can do this every walk from now on, short time on long line to get him focused and then the rest of the walk off lead. I couldn't believe how good he was today, he got loads of praise and hugs. :D

[IMG] shows how far I let him go off on his own. i wasn't nervous at all, i was quite confident actually. :D

[IMG] cute pic with him at heel

That is is brilliant :) It is difficult to build that confidence but when you just have that little bit of trust sometimes and leave them go it is suprising how they reward us. Watching them run freely off lead is the best thing.

    thanks again guys.

had a walk this morning to the park and he went off lead again. :D I only put his long line for about 5 minutes before I thought i might as well take it off. once he tasted the new sausages i bought for him yesterday, he was hooked and focused on me. we did loads of chasing games which he loved. he met loads of dogs, which he played with for the first time off lead for ages. at one point in the walk, i dropped some treats, but i walked away and called him, and he came away from it straight away. it was great. and he recalled first time away from playing with other dogs. :) i'm so happy. i took a few photos which i will put on later. :D

thank you. here are the photos from today:

his waits are really good, so i'm going to try and teach him a distance wait in case his recall fails and I can go to him instead of getting him to come to me.
