Right, so now I have a selection of names my next question is pet insurance.....:p

There are sooo many to mull over
What we are looking for is lifetime cover for both dogs (do they do multi-pet policies?) but are unsure who is the best company to be with....

    Suggestion time again

ps My appologies if this is a well covered subject

I am with pet plan for my 2, i know lots of people say they are expensive but i find them very good. They give lifetime cover and multi-pet discounts. I have just had to make a claim on Logan for nearly £600.00 and they have paid it within a few weeks.

I was with dog breeders with my last 2 dogs and they kept annoying me putting exclusions on everytime i claimed whereas pet plan don't do that!

    Good luck with your search.

I use DirectLine. Cant fault them at all. They even payed out for an operation that was linked to a pre-existing condition that one of mine had before i even had them insured.

I did get a discount for insuring two dogs.

Of course, the more you claim, the higher your monthly premium. I now pay about £55 a month, but with an on going heart condition, and Alfie recently having tumours removed, i more than happy to pay this.

M&S are a reputable company and a good alternative to petplan who

    1. are more expensive
    2. have changed their cover lately to restrict claims (especially on complementary therapies).

You made the right choice to go down the route of lifetime pet insurance.

For info, Direct Line offer a per condition cover (not lifetime).

Good luck and if you need more info, feel free to ask.

    :)

Maddie is insured with tesco atm, and theres a two pet discount..(maddie is doberman X) which costs £10.00
Sacha (GSD pup) got 4 weeks free insurance from the vet, which runs out next month.

    Just looked on Petplan
£ 32.23 per month for both dogs..

Tesco is £18.81 per month for both dogs..

Wish I could afford petplan because there's and obvious reason why it's more expensive...

    I NEED A JOB. :(

Oh yeah, M+S do 15% online discount + an extra 15% for each additional pet I think.

jlushh, there's probably something in between tesco and petplan but yeah, maybe that's something you can do when you find a new job. I admire the fact that despite that, you keep your dog insured. It's quite remarkable :thumbup1:

If they weren't insured and something happened, I'd be buggered heh!! Better to be safe than sorry. Hmm just looked at direct line £17.05 for both..Are they any better than tesco anyone reckon?
