Monty the Dally had to have some of his tail removed 2 weeks ago because he kept baching it and the tip was raw and bleeding but he would not leave it alone to heal, even with those new horrible tasting strips and a collar on!

But, it just would not heal they were back and forth to the vet nearly every day for a new dressing and he keeps wrecking the collars!

Well today they discovered it was not healing because the end was ''hanging off'' and he has to go back in to have More of his tail take off, apparently there wasnt enough skin from the last time to let it heal properly.

On top of that Bullet the lurcher they have been looking after for years suddenly took an interest to the bunnies a few weeks ago and dissapeared yesterday, broke into the buns, broke ones neck! :( The other was missing and no idea wether he carried it off or it escaped!

They have told the kids the buns escaped though, they are upset enough about poor montys tail and the budgie died last week too! :crying:

    Oh dear your poor dad

A tip for getting tails to heal. Get one of the old fashioned type hair curlers the ones with the holes in them. Put the tail through the curler and tape it on at the top and bottom. Leave the open holes over the wound. That way the air can get to the wound but the dog can't nibble at it and they can't bash it on walls and make it worse.
