They could say the same about us lot on-line talking about our pets all the time ;) :p

Although it's not for me - if it's something they want to be part of and enjoy then why not?

Oooh I might steal your idea! On Friday all the family are having a bbq at my aunts with a live band and stuff but I'm getting my braces adjusted on Thursday so mouth will be all sore and wont be able to eat much if anything

Your foods sound amazing I might steal the idea and make flapjack/brownie/little sarnies now and stay home

Before you get to excited - I've yet to make successful flapjack  and I've never made scones before :p
It could be a disaster - hence I'm planning to keep the champagne flowing ;)

I wouldn't worry, as far as my cooking goes I have burnt jelly and accourding to my husband "lost the recipe for toast" and trust me he's not joking.

I'll just be happy with the champagne ;)

Try this recipe for flapjacks by Lorraine Pascale. I've done it and it is easy and they are yummy

    Ingredients
    175g/6oz butter

    175g/6oz golden syrup

    175g/6oz muscovado sugar

    350g/12oz porridge oats

    ½ lemon, finely grated zest

    pinch ground ginger

    Preparation method
Preheat the oven to 150C/300F/Gas 2 and line a 20cm/8in square baking tin with baking paper.

Melt the butter in a medium pan over a low heat. Dip a brush in the butter and brush the baking tin with a little bit of it. Add the golden syrup and sugar to the butter and heat gently. Once the sugar is dissolved and the butter is melted, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the porridge oats, lemon zest and ginger.

Pack the mixture into the baking tin and squash down. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes.

Once cooked, remove from the oven, leave to cool for 15 minutes, then turn out on to a chopping board and cut into squares

Thx for the recipe Val001 :)
I'll give it ago, I always find (apart from a quick microwave recipe I have) that my falpjack never holds together.

These ones come out of the oven very soft but don't worry let them cool and if its a warm day put them in the fridge for a while then they will firm up and cut easily into squares. Hope you like them.
