devra kleiman, biologist, obit - Google Search

*devra* was not a dog-trainer, but a brilliant and gifted observer of behavior,
and she became a reproductive biologist who was a world-wide name for consultation on certain
    endangered or threatened species.

Reconciliation Ecology: RIP, Devra Kleiman, another sad loss to conservation biology

    washingtonpost.com EXCERPT -
this One Woman literally saved an entire species...
as well as changing the face + function of zoos radically.

pandas, tamarins, and many other critically endangered species will need her proteges to carry on her great work, to keep the worlds plethora of macro or microscopic, gloriously ugly and stunningly beautiful, intricate life alive.
    thank U, thank U, thank U, *devra* -
for saving parts of the world that are irreplaceable, for the patience to find the missing detail,
for enriching environments and making that a standard part of animal husbandry.

the non-humans and many, many humans are eternally grateful -
we will remember you for many years to come, and zoo-captives will honor Ur memory.
