I thought it was a little fire, but it looks huge!
I hope everyone got out okay :(
I also hope the loss of history isn't too devastating!

My son's friend can literally see the smoke bellowing out from the cathedral whilst d
sat at work, so we have been having updates from the start.

Really doesn't sound good, and I love history.

Am really resisting to use references about the Hunchback, as it will be a devastating loss to all. It's just how I cope when things seem unbelievable and are heartbreaking

    How sad.

    Such a beautiful old building.

I really hope they can save it.

What a sad day. It was such a beautiful building, so rich in history.

Don't tell me they hired the same builders that set fire to Windsor Castle!

Really hope they can save it, it's not in great shape as it is...

    What

First I've heard of this, I've visited Notre Dame and the beauty and the history of the place would be a great loss if they can't save her.

Watching it on the news now and it looks really serious. Such a huge loss. Apparently took two hundred years to build.

Heartbreaking to see and we play such a part in its history here in the U.K as Europeans.

It looks like the structure has been saved and most of it's treasures are safe. now starts the hard work of how to rebuild her.

The altar and cross, the chancel windows and most of the pews looks as if they will be OK.

Nobody hurt or died. Unlike twin towers and Grenfell tower.

I think a firefighter was injured, possibly a couple of police officers too

You just can't compare the three. A fireman was badly hurt.
