I thought it may be worth while posting this here too as you lovely people have alot of experience re- pups!

So as some of you may know i picked up our beautiful mini schnauzer pup Bella on Fri and she is an absolute joy!!

I am well aware that socializing your pup is very important to try and stop any unwanted behaviours as adults the best you can. So how did you make sure your pup was well sociallized? What did you do with your pup, any tips??

I have a three year old daughter and both Bella and my daughter are getting used to each other...its going well though i think.
I had some of her friends over today that as three year olds do made a lot of noise!! At first Bella was unsure but by the end of the day she didnt care what they were doing or how much noise they were making and she just wanted to play with them!

I thought this was good?? Am i right?

I have a few friends with vaccinated dogs that i will take her to visit and my vets do puppy socialisation classes.

Anything else that you can think of that i can do?

    Thank you. x

    Hi Hannah

Sounds like you are doing all the right things, Bella is a lucky girl. There are puppy good citzen classes endorsed by the KC just down the road from us I will get you the details, they are 6 weeks courses teaching pups the basics and getting them used to other dogs, I highly recommend it I have taken both Max & Molly and will be taking Tia as soon as she has her jabs and a new class starts

    Rach x

Seems like you're doing a great job

Socialising her means socialising with everyone and everything, not just dogs. When we first got Sky I wrapped her in my coat and took her outside to get used to all the different noises and smells, I even took her into my local spar where she had a massive fuss ;)

I got my mother to bring round her JR and doberman/gsd cross and within half an hour they were best friends

When she's vaccinated take her to a puppy club! :yesnod:
