I have 2 boys Freddie and Dylan. I love their names(obviously lol). I was chatting with a friend about having a 3rd. She has 2 girls called Amelia and Sophie.

She asked if I was going to call the next one a 'normal' name. Apparently Freddie and Dylan are a bit wierd.

I'm not sure what I would class as normal names. Any ideas?

I don't find them names weird at all.
Maybe she just meant they aren't that common.

I've always said that when I want kids, I would name them something which isn't common.

Like my name is Emma, I know hundreds of Emma's lol.

LOL I'm probably the last person anyone should be asking regarding baby names :D

I've had some flack with my boys name, Freddie and Dylan sound completely normal to me.

Haha you should tell the friend that someone I know has a daughter called Rainbow!!

Before I had my son, I had loads of girl's names picked out. And about a week before he was born I managed to think of a boys name. I wanted jamie or jack, but we already have a jamie and a jack in the family. Lewis was the only boys name at the time I liked and we didn't have in the family.

I have no idea what boy's name I would have if I have another! Don't know any girl's names either! Lol

It doesn't work!! Before I had Freddie I knew none. I now know loads. Still not met another Dylan though. Freddie was nearly Morgan and Dylan was nearly Toby.

I do think the same as you though. I want them to have names which are a bit different. I had 8 Johns in my class at school.

I used to love the name Morgan but there is a kid in the village called morgan, she is from a quite 'common' family so I am not keen on the name anymore.

I always liked the name Farrah :)

My old neighbour named her baby Jasper and got told "imagine calling that out in public I'd be so embarrased" from people that had daughters called Morgan or Caitlyn like every other kid where I lived. I prefer more unusual but normal names my cousin wanted to call hers Darwin... my first thought was chavs are trying to sound smart. She ended up with Mason though.
