He's just gone off with the vet nurses who came to collect him, tail wagging, tongue flopping all over the place! I really don't know why he is obsessed with the vets, but I'm glad for it, because I know he has a good time while he's there, the weirdo!

They're going to take the blood without anaesthetic again as well, so he will be able to come home very quickly again :)

    Well done Nibs :D
What a brilliant thing to do, so many dogs will benefit - my 2 are too tiny to donate blood so I really appreciate it when others do.

Thanks you lot, I'll give him your messages when he gets back (and he'll look at me like I've gone mad, but that's not the point!)

The vets are very good to him, last time he did get a few toys as a thank you, which was unexpected and lovely of them- and he will get an extra meal when he gets back, and a nice quiet evening :)

Amber misses him, keeps wandering into the living room and poking in the corners then looking at me. Poor girl, she misses her stripey cushion!

its such a great thing to do, i really think so and thank you and everyone who does it if ever we need to use it!

i would love to help but alfie is petrified of the vets and needles they give, our last dog billy would be perfect as nothing bothered him but we didnt know about it until recently.

i think more should be done to advertise this great scheme!

Any dog who is over 25kg, vaccinated, healthy and of a steady temperament can give blood! :D You can always ask your vet

So my lad is back now, he has a beautiful neon pink bandage on, as he bled a little afterwards this time. It's been a month and a half since his last blood donation, but I think I'll say no if the next time they ask is within 3 months- so he can have a proper break from it.

He has had a nice extra meal with added dog build-up milk, and he's on the sofa now getting titbits of ham :D

He just needs a bit of R+R and cuddles :)

Amber was SO happy to see him! I had to be quite firm with her to be gentle, she kept forgetting and going to jump on him
