Please meet Moss. He is the new arrival at the farm - great breeding behind him and well reared too, so fingers crossed he turns into a wonderful sheepdog. His current nickname is Jaws! Everything - and I mean everything - electrical wires, socks (with feet in them!), duvets, big dogs tails, blankets, carrots ... you name it - goes in his mouth to be tasted and chewed! I collected him from the Lakes when I was down seeing my parents last weekend and he strutted into the house, among all the big dogs, as though he already owned the place. He is such a character.

I have had a collie called Moss and he was a very special boy to me, so I have avoided OH using the name until now. After much deliberation and debate (and the fact OH let me use "Zak" for my GSD and that was the name of his best ever sheepdog) I decided this little chap was worthy of the name. Hope he lives up to it! ;)

How cute, I've always liked the name Moss after falling head over heels with a Kiwi called Moss who came to work the farm in the summer :D

Thank you everyone. He is such a character. Probably the boldest and friendliest pup we have had in a while.

He looks a super pup. Good luck with him.

I'm not sure my puppy is pure collie as I think she must have some beaver in there somewhere judging by the state of my brand new farmhouse table and chairs. Maybe she think they are not shabby chic enough.....LOL

Moss continues to amuse and shock in equal measure!

He is still a monster biter but we are consistently redirecting him on to appropriate chew toys and away from our feet, hands, faces! He sits in the front of the Landrover and observes the world with the eyes of a pup who has been here before :D and shares the front seat - rather ungraciously - with two big dogs when we have to put a sheep in the back.

Yesterday's horror was the little beggar ate a whole (dead) lamb  which OH was transporting to the shed in the foot-well (not something we usually encourage in our sheepdogs!). But he did leave Moss in the Landy while he went to help another ewe with a hung lamb, so you can hardly blame Moss for thinking it had been left there for his delectation can you?!:D

He is the devil in disguise :Angelic

You can't indeed .... I recall shooing ours out of the barn at lambing lest they spy any afterbirth

    Beautiful boy.

Oh yes!! I will have the pleasure of watching my dogs trying to eat as many dried and crusty cleansings as possible once we are allowed back into the lambing fields. Can't wait! :Hilarious
