We get our puppy in two weeks French Bulldog, we plan to crate train and also have a pen. My question is how long should we do this as we have 3 other dogs.

I am planning to take 10 days off with her for the toilet training, then she we be along for no longer than 4 hours, althouhg maybe less, as my partner will be sleeping he does nights I do days.

I want her to get socialised with the other dogs, but then crate her at night with door open so she can use the pen.

    Any advise appreciated.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by how long as you have three other dogs.

I had a puppy last September and I also have three other dogs. For the first week or so her crate was placed next to my other dogs beds in the kitchen at bedtime and she was perfectly happy. After that her crate was in her large pen in the kitchen and she also had a soft sofa type bed in the pen, which as been sewn up several times now....LOL
She is still put in the pen at bedtime and if we go out but the rest of the time she is loose with my other dogs. I've been very lucky with this pup as my other dogs took to her straight away but of course that isn't always the case and you have to be vigilant until the older dogs accept the new arrival.

I meant how long before they can be left alone together, I will obviosuly let them mingle when I am there, but was wondering after that, months, year?

That greatly depends on how well your other dogs accept your puppy. I wouldn't leave a very young puppy unattended with older dogs, however well they seemed to get on, until the pup was 5 months old at least. You will have to see how things go. Some of mine in the past have taken over a year before they accept the newcomer.
