Hi guys, My sister got a Brittany spaniel on sunday, I have to mind him for a few weeks. He is 4 months old, he is being fed pedigree puppy food. Im just wondering how much he should be eating ? On the packed it says 315g to be divided in three meals throught out the day. It just seems like an awful lot to be feeding him or it is ok ? Im just used to feeding smaller dogs :p

I dont know the breed it sounds like very little to me but then i have bigger dogs! lol

I would have thought it was ok, But i also dont feed pedigree as i dont like them. I would follow the bag or ask you sister how shes been feeding him and do it the same way

It sounds okay to me. When Charlie was that young he was on 75g x 3 a day. But that was dry Hills...

as pedigree isnt the best quality, you do have to feed a bit more of it than better quality foods. so that does sound about right i guess.

brittany spaniels are beautiful. post piccies please!!

Brittany spaniel is always good with his diet. Try to control your Brittany diet.

since its not your dog, i wouldnt advise changing the diet. but you could always mention to your sister that the pedigree isnt that great a food, and that maybe she would consider changing onto something else.

though if you are watching him for a few weeks, you could ask her if she minds if you change it. what do you feed your own dog?

good dry foods to consider could be arden grange, fish4dogs, burns, james wellbeloved, skinners, csj, orijen.

I havent been speaking with my sister yet, but I will tell her that pedigree food isnt great, Id just like to know what food i should advise her to get instead. I feed my dog Royal canine cavalier king charles food.

Not sure about the amounts for a Brittany Spaniel, but with my Cavalier I use James Beloved, only due to that is what the breeder was giving her when I got her, so I carried it on. But I have heard its a good food xx
