Hi. New to the forum! We are the proud owners of a cute baby robo dwarf. He was bought from main street pet store and we bought what we were told was the best cage for him - long with one tube that goes round half the perimeter. 1 half ledge for house and food bowl/water. Hes ate fine, appears to have had water as noticed him peeing a good few times in the tube and plenty poos.
The worry we have is that he only leaves the tube to eat/bring food to tube. He sleeps in there. We have seen him out it on few occasions and has been seen climbing on some of the toys or on wheel but ultimately he spends most of his time in the tube. Awake or sleeping.
Should we be worried ? Is this normal behaviour for a baby hamster in the early days ? Should we go and buy a bigger cage? Can you recommend one if need be.
Food we have used : muesli , brocoli and spinach. No sweet treats as yet. Spoken to alot but maybe been in too noisy room with TV etc.
Just looking for as much advice as possible to make sure our wee guy is as happy as we are to have him ❤
