Hiya, I am looking to buy Indie a new collar for christmas, her current one has been chewed by the little man and got wrecked when we went to scotland and maybe one for when demon is older!

Wheres the best place to get nice colourful half check collars? I know a couple of people on here do them but I am useless at remembering who

I would recommend an Ann Rees half check - you can get coloured leather options.

Quality is second to none, incredibly strong and durable, and the chains do not mark or stain at all, unlike most others.

No,the length you would ask for would be without the chain.So it would just be your dogs neck measurement.

TILLYMINT does some lovely half check collars. I have one for Dex and it has my mobile number embroidered on it

RE ANN REES COLLARS:

They are gorgeous but be warned: I had one for Dex and the chain left a terrible stain on his coat. I loved the collar but had to return it because of that problem. So just double check you won't have the same problem if you get one

The half check i currently use for indie has never marked her neck and is just a standard black one from [email protected], its rusted but never marked her fur

Must admit I was surprised - was such a shame as the collar was gorgeous. I'm not saying it would happen with all dogs, just that it happened with Dex. Really bad staining.

The Ann Rees ones don't stain Kilo at all, but neither do most others. Not sure what the definitive answer is as obviously they did stain Dex.

Ours don't. My Bernese has a snow white chest/throat, and he has no staining whatsoever from his Ann Rees half check.

The Newfie wears one too but since he's black I wouldn't know if his stains, but I assume it doesn't.

Hmmm Iv saved the website as I really thing they look lovely, they are quite pricey but you pay for quality.
I might wait til pup is grown up and get them one each
