Hello (meow!), all fellow cat lovers and feline friends!

I have been cohabiting with a male neutered cat (10 years) for ten years now. he hasn't always been easy-going and I feel what he truly needs is a family of his own other than his littermate and brother and other littermate and brother (both ten years of age). Prior to his neutering procedure (the snip), several portions of his sperm may have been frozen for posterity. The time is now right for a surrogate cat to step in and save his (precious) genes. He Shall Have A Kitten.

He will be a committed single father to his progeny (the kitten) as the surrogate has little to no interest in regular contact with aforementioned kitten. how will this work out? thoughts? Views? experience?

Both I and the cat await response with baited breath.

A neutered male cat will not be aware that the resulting kitten will be his progeny. A surrogate female cat however will be aware that it is her kitten and I would be most be surprised if she had no interest.
If you feel your cat would benefit from having a young kitten find a shelter and adopt one. I do not see the need for using artificial insemination - I haven't heard of it being used in cats before.
What breed is he to have such precious genes?

Why do you believe his sperm "may" have been frozen?

Perhaps the forum rules need updating to not just include stud service but (possible) frozen portions of sperm ;)

There’s been a few successful cases here, and if viable (as it’s currently not pleasant for the males at all) it would be a great option for breeders as it is for dog breeders.

Is it half term? I reckon you are teasing or telling some weird sort of metaphorical story we don't get.

I think it's great to see single fathers raising the young like this, your cat is a real inspiration.

    I agree absolutely.

He will be a devoted and doting Father and will certainly want to change his kitten's nappies and take it to pre-school.

When I was young our cat had kittens and the father of them cleaned them, played with them and they used to sleep on him and adore him every time he came in. I thought it was very cute.
