I have two German Shepherd dogs and they love to play soccer (football) in the garden, but lately, my neighbour's dog has been coming over to my house when I play with my pets. This has caused them, and myself, to become agitated and annoyed. However, if I try to tell her to go home she doesn't respond and one time she came into my house and urinated on the floor. I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to teach this dog boundaries and keep her off my property in future. Thank You!

Ask the owner to keep it under control. What country are you in. Repel the dog in an unpleasant way that will deter it from wanting to come to you - do NOT hurt it though.

The thing is she keeps coming over to the door every time it’s open, her owner isn’t around a lot and she gets lonely but I recently got a new puppy and I’m afraid of leaving him alone with her.

Do you and your neighbour not have separate gardens? I’d think the onus was on the owner to make sure their dog wasn’t able to wander the neighbourhood. They’re lucky you’re a kind dog owner yourself!

I don’t plan on hurting her, I live in Ireland and in the countryside so there are many ways for her to get onto my property with all the open space.

So the issue here is she’s out on their land unsupervised during the day? Is she an outdoor dog? Does she have a kennel/run or anything? I’m presuming even if she does they’re not shutting her away or restricting her range in some way when they’re not there.

That's difficult . What is the law on roaming dogs in Ireland?
