    Hi all,

As the title suggests I have a large wool rug in my lounge. I used 1001 no vac carpet and upholstery foam on it at the weekend and the rug now looks awful!!!

The foam came out in streaks and instead of disappearing after a few mins it just left really noticeable spray tracks. It looks like someone has peed on it to be honest.

There are no warnings on the can, not even a recommendation to do a patch test first. Just says it's for all rugs, carpets and upholstery so I merrily sprayed away.

Does anyone here have any tips on how to clean a wool rug myself? Preferrably without having to spend goodness knows how much money on hiring a machine???

What about steam cleaning it? I have a small hand held steam cleaner, best invention ever made.

I think you can use them on almost anything and in the longrun save you loads of money.

Thanks guys - might have a look in the big book of arguuuus to see if they have any small steam cleaners for a reasonable price.

Whatever happens I can't leave it like this - sods law as well - had to call the doctor out for OH's bad back on friday. He promptly made him lie down on the floor - on my rug that looks like it's been .....well, I won't say it again.
