hope you chatters can help. I am looking to buy washable Vet beds for a rescue and have looked online but there seems to be a massive difference in price! Would really appreciate recommendations on what I should go for. Never seen them before and know nothing about them. Thanks in advance.

I bought a big roll of vetbed a few years ago from ebay. Much cheaper to buy it on roll than in pieces and it has the convenience of being able to be cut to size as required.

It is expensive stuff but is brilliant, as it wicks moisture so the cat lying on it stays dry. Also vetbed can be washed and dried in the same day, so very convenient for use in vets, rescues and catteries etc.

From research I did when I bought mine I found ebay is the cheapest place to buy it. The larger the roll the cheaper it works out per metre.

I use a wash bag (officially sold for horse use) when washing my vetbed, and the difference is noticeable without. However if they're an established rescue they're probably already well aware of what their washing machine can or can't cope with, and presumably if their filters do get clogged more easily they already have bags for washing any and all other fabric items (as the issue isn't limited just to vetbed). So I'd not worry about that unless explicitly stated.

I prefer the proper stuff with the wicking firm mesh type backing layer. But that does slip around, so if you're looking for non-slip stuff then rubber-backed is better.
