She has admitted doing it, but said that it was a mistake. It's pretty difficult to both like and retweet a post by mistake.

By all accounts, she a nasty piece of work, who was suspended last year for anti-semitism.
A mistake? Obviously it was but it still means that she has these opinions of the girls involved. Sickening really. There are not many instances I feel people should be sacked but this is one of them.

It won't be by me. It was on Twitter so.... someone will have screenshot it and it will be there for ever.
Just because someone isn't white doesn't mean they can't be a nasty piece of work. It's as racist to regard people as always saints because of their skin colour or creed as it is to always regard them as sinners. Both viewpoints take away their humanity.

Having said that ....... this quote is from a piece she did the day before when told that the DM were going to run a story:

So, Dear Daily Mail, whilst you trawl through records and question my mother's abuse, a victim's narrative, whilst peddling hatred and division, I and countless others will continue to do what we do. Concentrate on the issues that matter, with a dialogue of unity not division.

Finally, as a woman, a survivor, a daughter and a mother, I will be damned if I allow a right wing sexist tabloid tell me what my experiences are. Like every other survivor, I own my own narrative. People like my mother and I, and so many other victims, have had their accounts questioned. I have been fighting this battle all my life. So bring it on, because I will not be silenced.

So.... I will just roll my eyes and go back to living my life. None of this has changed my opinion of the Daily Mail.

See that's quite interesting & I do agree with her comments in this piece .... so why would she like & retweet something so awful??

@Mirandashell She deleted it very quickly and unliked the like with n a few minutes.

What a hypocrite she is ! Why hasn't Corbyn sacked her especially after her Israel remarks .

ETA : from Mirandashell's link

"Finally, as a woman, a survivor, a daughter and a mother, I will be damned if I allow a right wing sexist tabloid tell me what my experiences are. Like every other survivor, I own my own narrative. yet she has no sympathy for the girls who were groomed and raped in Rotherham

She shot her mouth off and silenced herself .

I was also surprised it was him cos he wrote about the demonisation of the working class and he's very socialist. Which is a little odd for someone Oxford-educated but fair enough.

I don't know, the whole thing is odd. Maybe it's someone pretending to be him?

Ah! This from Wiki which explains the socialism:

Jones was born in Sheffield and grew up in Stockport, Greater Manchester,[2] and briefly in Falkirk, Scotland.[3] His father was a local authority worker and trade-union shop steward,[4]and his mother is an IT lecturer at Salford University.[4] He describes himself as a "fourth-generation socialist"; his grandfather was involved with the Communist Party and his parents met as members of the Trotskyist Militant tendency.[5]

I'm knew the original tweet was a parody as the name was in the tweet she retweetd and I looked at Areeqs tweets but couldn't see it there .

I understand this type of sarcastic humour but really its not on for an MP to like and retweet this type of thing . Its naive at the very least but not funny to the girls who suffered and and still suffering .

Im still not clear who tweeted what .

The original parody account was @smugowen but it seems he has deleted his account so the original tweet isn't there .
I think Areeq Cowdhury replied to smugowen ( but cant find the tweet ) and the sarcastic tweet replying to Areeq was from the original Owen and then Naz Shah liked and retweeted the real Owen's tweet ? Blimey !

TBH Im still not sure who wrote the sarcastic reply to Areeq that Shah retweeted ( the sarcastic tweet being " Exactly Areeq, those abused girls in Rotherham etc " )

The real owen is rather cute.

Anyway , bizarre that shah did like and retweet and she shouldn't have done .

We're told that MPs should make choices for us as they are more knowledgeable than Joe Public . We have some genuinely good MPs but the rest are a Motley Crew and I wouldn't trust 'em as far as I could throw'em
