Im so annoyed and upset.

I went to the hairdressers yesterday for a cut - i had a just past shoulder length bob, my hair is in beautiful condition which is why im so upset.

She has cut it far too short and there were chunks missing; i had to go back, crying and puffy faced and ask that someone else correct it. I now have really short hair and i feel ugly

The girl was crying that did it and i was made to feel bad by staff who ignored me and no apologies were made, im quite angry right now.

No particular reason for the thread but i just fancied a rant :thumbdown:

That happened to me years ago so I can totally understand how you feel, awful to be treated that way by the staff. I would make a formal complaint in writing both about the cut and staff attitude. Hope your hair grow quickly hun

One suggestion if it is really making you miserable and you hate it, is to maybe get hair extensions while it grows, it you go to someone really reputable and knows what they are doing then can look really good and you cant tell at all,
my Sis had some done and hers are fabulous cant tell at all.

How awful, I have also had a super bad hair cut so I know how miserable it can be.

I agree with skip. Write a formal complaint. The one that did it needs more training before she ruins someone else's hair.

I have had extensions before and i would do so now but... i have had to have it so short, its not an option; i have had to have a severe graduated (short) bob that's shaved up my neck.

Its totally ruined my life (melodramatic i know) for the short term future as i am getting married soon

Just before my DIL got married she went for a soft perm so that her staight as a dye hair would be a bit wavey and romantic but the hairdresser did it tight and short so she looked like shirley temple.. When she complained they refused to do anything.

It took me to walk in on a busy friday afternoon and stand there complaining about how they had ruined her upcoming wedding for them to agree to relax it ..

Find out if the have any kind of public liability insurence and make a claim..
Oh and make sure you send any complaint regestered post.

The minimum they should have done is fix it, give a full refund and kiss your arse they whole time you were there. I would put in a complaint and demand a refund, report to trading standards if they are still being aresy about it.

Don't let it ruin your wedding day though hun, get yourself a lovely tiara and a nice layered veil to cover the back *hugs*

I've had loads of bad hair dos,some so bad im now a bit phobic :0(.ive had to wear a bunnet for weeks with one particularly bad Purdy lol.your going to have to find a really good hair dresser who specialises in hair pieces for you big day.ask round the really good hairdressers in your area( I mean expensive ones)I also think finding out about insurance is a good idea.

Perhaps there are ways that you can style it or adapt it so that you are happier with it? A lot of very short styles can be very beautiful- Michelle Williams, Keira Knightley, Audrey Tautou, Carey Mulligan and Natalie Portman all come to mind for having very nice very short do's at some stage!

I know the upset you must be feeling though- Aged fourteen I went in for a perm to get gentle waves, I came out looking like Sandy at the end of Grease. Awful.

I feel better now it looks less jagged but im just not happy with the shortness; its just like the cut charlize theron had in Aion Flux if anyone knows it - i can only hope it grows enough in the next few months - thanks all for the suggestions, ill look into insurance and complaints, i feel that i should have been offered a refund but was just glad to get out of there.

Poor you! If its any consolation I just googled charlize theron in Anion Flux and it doesn't look that bad I've had so many disasterous haircuts over the years that I resorted to cutting my own hair and got better results!

I know this sounds totally wacky but if you hate it that much could you wear a wig. You can get some really lovely ones on the market these days. I think they cost a bit but its something else to consider if you really do despise your hairstyle at the moment.

How upsetting :incazzato: - agree with all the others ref complaints and refunds. I am sure you still look beautiful but the point really is that it isn't what you wanted; happened to me once and the feeling is horrible - I was too young and naive to do anything about it bar go to a different hairdresser's to sort it though .

Thats not good at all, i hate getting my hair cut in fact im quite anal with it and have to go kicking and screaming

Id say the extensions as well, even if its to say neck length if you can have it too long

Oh Diesel poor you,now if that were me I'd go back and complain really loudly hoping they had a shop full of clientele and demand you speak to the manager/manageress and demand recompense for the shoddy job they did on your hair.I bet it wasnt cheap either. Definately a cause for refund big time.

Know just how you feel, years ago I had just the same. I cut my own hair for years without any adverse comments from friends/relatives etc. but decided I wanted a change...within 24 hours THREE people had asked me 'Er...have you been cutting your own hair then,,,hahahaha!' - totally infuriating. But this will give you a giggle (if nothing else does). The same happened to my niece, then aged about 16. Got home, her mother, my mother (her gran) and several friends said 'Oh dear, Kay, whatever did you do to your hair?' Like she really needed their comments when she was distraught anyway...' Trying to be diplomatic, I said, it really wasn't as bad as all that...she replied oh yes, it f***ing was. She then armed herself with a pair of scissors, went back to the salon and chased the offending hairdresser round the shop saying 'Come here you, I'm going to give YOU a haircut you won't forget!' Unfortunately the police were called before she could carry out the threat.

If they could see how unhappy you were with it the LEAST they should have done was a refund. I declined a reCUT as that would have made it even shorter.

same here, i waited until i was in the car and then cried the whole way home! then i sorted it out myself and it looked a million times better.
OP your hair sounds like mine, but bit crap if that isn't what you want! well done for having the guts to go back though and hope you manage to sort it, definitely complain!

Having had it happen to me, I know just how you feel, and YES it is the end of the world to you. There is few things worse than looking forward to getting your hair done all nice, then finding they've totally messed it up I have come out of the salon almost in tears a couple of times wishing to god that I could turn back the last few hours and not bothered. I've had it cut too short, cut how I hated it, and had awful messes made with my color. I have spent all night crying on a couple of occaisions cos they f****d my hair up.One stupid bint once colored one side darker than the other because she wasn't concentrating and wanted to go for a ***:incazzato: I was fuming when I realised and went straight back next day saying I wanted it doing right and no way was that moron going near my hair again. I would deffo go back and complain loudly as a salons job is to make you feel good about yourself. Having hair you can't stand has drastic impact on you yourself because its there, it can't be hidden away like a botched tattoo, its free for all the world to see. They haven't made you feel good so they have failed to do what you paid for. On top of that they've actually messed it up so should recompense you either with a refund or re-do it. I am paranoid about having it cut as well as I've had it done too short before ( and had one side done shorter than the other!), so now I only let them take about quarter an inch off the ends! Hope you get it sorted

wish you were closer to mine, lovely girl called Isobel does my hair really well once a month maintenance dry cut for £7 and my last colour highlights were only £25. I'm going back at the end of the month for another colouring session.
