I am in pieces and to be quite honest I don't want to live without my beautiful Zola!!! She was 4years 5months and 11 days she had been given RIMADYL for her elbow displaysia and on Friday night showed symptoms of a burst ulcer. The vet did not pick this up straight away and we took her the following morning to the 'Specialist Vets in Birmingham' that had prescribed it to her. They did emergency surgery but she died this morning at 5.15am. I didn't want her to be on this drug but the specialists vet assured me it would be ok. They up her dosage a few days ago. She had a big ulcer and it had partly burst. I cant live without her she was my best friend I spent 22hours a day with her and she slept by me on my bed and I need her!!! If anyone reads this please don't let your dog take rimadyl. I didn't think it could happen to my dog but it has!!!!!

sorry to hear about your zola :(
Not sure about that drug, but with pet meds some dogs will have different reactions to it, someone I know had a collie who had a bad time on metacalm.
Really sorry for you, its an awful thing to lose a pet. x

So sorry to hear about your beloved Zola.

My heart goes out to you, dear Penny.

If you scroll down the Index page you'll come to 'Rainbow Bridge'. It's a rememberance & tribute section for people whose beloved pets have passed over to the world of spirit.
I think it would be helpful to you to make a tribute for your Zola there. Most people here have been through the sorrow of losing a beloved pet and will know how you are feeling....

I am so very sorry to read of your loss of your lovely Zola - how terrible for you to lose her at such a young age. I can only imagine your devastation. I have Ridgebacks and know just how special they are.

Dear Penny,

I understand and share your pain. I feel, how can hurt you when you lose a friend you love.

However, I'm sure that your lost friend wouldn't want you to be sad for a long time. Because she loved you, too.

And she was devoted to your happiness. She wants to see you happy still. Please, don't be a disappointment to her and your family.

Weep for your beloved Zola if you must. Then wipe your tears and keep going. The sun will rise tomorrow in the sky, like usual.

And the life brings you another dog that you'll love. Zola will give you that dog, and she wants you to love each other.

Do you promise it will be so, right?:)

Hugs,

Al
