It's been making terrible noises for a few months now and finally, it went BOOM and all stopped. Wish I had my camera! Looks like no oven meals for a while...:cursing: and I was in the middle of baking my cookies...they've gone into the bloody grill to finish off.

    Bloody hell. Not fair!

At least we'll get a brand new oven, hob, the lot now after long last :001_tt2:

Oh dear, poor you and your cookies. Must have been pretty scary! Would have frightened me for sure.
Your post was one of the first I saw when navigating back to Pet Forums after changing my Facebook status to "Feels like a pressure cooker. Any more stress and i'm going to explode" Then I come here and see your post "My oven just exploded..." !!!

Must of made you jump out of your skin. :eek:hmy:
    Shame about the cookies though.
It's microwave meals for a while then :(

I'm assuming it's an electric oven - if it was gas you would know as there would be a flame. If it was gas you'd need to turn the gas supply off or the whole house could go boom.

Do you have to light the pilot light before you start cooking? If not it's electric and you have nothing to worry about :p

The cookies ended up going into the grill oven to finish off, seem to be fine to be honest. Best cookies I've made so far...(the only cookies I've made so far :001_tt2:)

Well then yes it's an electric, phew!

I'll probably just end up either going to my grandma's for cooking (she lives like a minute away; depending on traffic :001_tt2:) or go to the chippy, Indian or Chinese about two minutes away...
