IMG_20200719_152434260.jpg Hey, everyone. My husband and I have adopted a feral cat when she was 10 months old. Since then, she has progressed a lot (even though "progress" seems not to be the exact word, once we knew that she wasn't socialized and accepted it), she eats from our hands, get up in our bodies when we are sleeping and above our legs if we holding a treat. She is such a lovely cat, very educated, only pooped outside the litter tray twice, comes when we call her, also trained in small tasks as smelling our hands asking for food, tail always up when close to us, but still she doesn't let us pet her or come close (she can come close, but we can't). Is there any chance she will become a fully pet cat? Any tips on going forward on it?

    She looks gorgeous!

Yes, she can become a real cuddle bug.
How? Just continue what you are doing, it sounds perfect!
Just let her come at her own time, never try to pet her when she doesn’t ask for it. Play with her, talk to her.
Another thing you can try is clicker training. It often builds a very strong bond between cat and slave.

Thank you! We're going to keep it, hope that someday she'll be ok with making this step forward us.
The clicker training is a thing to try, certainly! :)

I was going to say pretty much the same thing @FelipeandPepsy Carry on as you are, let her call the shots. I rescued a young cat from a shelter who was un-socialized. My Mazy cat was about 7 months old when she came Forever Home. She sent me to the ER with bad bites a couple of times in those early days until I learned her boundaries. It took 6 years before she would get on me, and she chose my chest when I'm flat on the couch reading. Now at 16 she is a major lap cat, on her terms of course, and takes a daily pill without fuss and allows nail trims. Never would have believed it, back in the day.

PS what a beautiful little girl!

All of mine gravitate to the kitchen when they hear the clicker as it means dinner. If one ignores it I shout 'Nom-nom'. She is a lovely looking cat.

Pepsy, her name, know exactly her food time, she come with a few minutes to the second, where we have our kitchen, and sits there. When the microwave beeps, it's even difficult to pass by her, so excited she get

People, I have great news. Pepsy let me touch her and she loves it. We are growing in intimacy and I'm loving it

Wow! You must be thrilled! Is there anything more gratifying than winning the trust of an animal? Well done!
