    Hi Sarah

So sorry to hear your kitten is so ill. I haven't had any experience with this but hopefully someone will be along soon that has.

I hope the vet can do something to help out tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your kitten, there is an article here about a kitten with pss - with a positive outcome following surgery Case Report - portosystemic shunt Is surgery completely out of the question for your kitten now?

    hi
thank you for the link, i took maccy back to the emergancy vet this evening and a different vet said it might not be pss,i still think it might be as he has all the symptoms drooling, poor growth, poor coat, and neurilogical behavouir.
the vet has put him on a drip and ive got to pick him up and take him back to my normal vet in the morning.
im just so worried about him he is so poorly and i dont want him to suffer, my vet wouldnt do the op he"d have to go to a specialist but he does"nt think maccy would cope with the op

Has a positive diagnosis been given as to what is the actual problem?
Surely, if the Vet follows the advice for diagnosis, as given in the article, the link of which was posted by 'ambercat', then you can move forward from there.

  13. Hiya

    I cant really add much...

Do you know where his PSS is located? is there only one or multiple PSS? If its external to the liver surgery is sometimes (not often though:() an option, However if it is internal, its rare for surgery to be done due to the problems dealing with the liver.

If your vet has diagnosed a PSS, you could ask for a referral to a specialist, to see if there issurgery available.

So sorry not to have good news to give :(

    HUGS

    xxxx
