my friends border collie Leo, was farm bred and reared, they did go around alot of farms and eventually picked leo...
obv no health tests were taken, or hips scored ect ect. non-kc reg just your typical farm collie pup...

couple of weeks ago he started to hop along after excessive play, her OH's dad is a vet and he got xrayed ect and recommended him to a specialist.

today she tells me hes riddled with Hip Dysplasia and arthritis..
hes ONE on the 1st of june...

i feel so sorry for the little man, they had such high hopes for him.. and they were thinking of getting another collie too, but can't now as Leo is restricted to three 10minute on the lead walks, and wouldnt be fair on the other.
poor boy. just shows you eh... where you get your dog from really does effect everything sometimes.

Poor baby . That's why health tests are so important. Can they do anything like a hip replacement

i didn't ask but will talk about it with her more tomorrow, she was obviously quite upset with the news. she feels so angry and upset with herself. he is insured so maybe..
