When I swim, my dog refuses to come in with me, waits till I'm back on land then has a swim herself. Don't know if she's guarding the stuff on the shore or if she thinks I'll drown her! Shame, it would be fun to swim together.

My friends german shepherd will sit at the edge of the water if her children are swimming and watch them for about 20 minutes then herd them back out of the water lol. Airedales are the only water terriers but maybe she's just afraid you will drown or something so she has to keep an eye on you.
