Hi, we recently bred my beautiful cocker spaniel - Beau. However she is now overdue by 2 days and has not been showing any signs of labour being close i.e.. no nesting, panting, tiredness. Is this something I should be worried about ? and is there anything I can do to help her along ? as excited as I am to see the new babies I really just want my own baby to be ok so please let me know if there is anything I should do or just reassure me :)

I know nothing about breeding, but I would suggest if you are at all concerned phone your vet or/and mentor for advice.

Do you have a mentor to help you through this, how about your dogs breeder?

Best thing is to get her checked by your vet

I'm not sure why this wasn't your first port of call really?

It may not be day 63 by ovulation. However I wouldn't leave it much longer. Do you know if she has multiple pups or a singleton?

    Hi Guys,

Beau actually ended up having 8 beautiful girls, I did call the vets and they were not any help at all and just said that she would have them when she was ready but if we wanted to bring her in they would be happy to take her which I didn't want to do because I thought she would be less stressed at home and that night she had them with no panting nesting or any of the signs your supposed to look out for. She had no problems during birth and all the pups are happy and healthy :) Im so proud of her x
