    Hi All

Today i had my college interview for a C&G level 1 diploma to start training as a chef, the man who interviewed me was the head chef of the colleges training restaurant(he used to own his own place but gave it up to teach) and the mentor for the level 2 diploma(the more advanced one).

    I didn't get a place on the course :(

The man liked me so much and was so impressed with my cooking experience he gave me an unconditional onto the level 2 course :w00t:

So chuffed, he's a really nice guy and i can't wait to train under him, we start in September, i do 1 day theory, 1 day prep and 1 day practical(working in the restaurant) per week :D

Thanks everyone, cooking is something i've been doing for the majority of my life(21 in June but i've been in a kitchen since i was 4) and i know i'm good at it so it's easy enough to be confident....i have done some tricky recipes and had them turn out really well which he seemed pleased with :D

So excited, going to try and find a wee part time job for some extra experience in a professional kitchen as he suggested it would really help with the practical days :w00t:

Aw that's fab! Well done :D My eldest wanted to be a Chef, after working in a pub for the past 4 years, but he couldn't commit to the long unsociable hours, he's a barman at the moment, while he finishes college and loving it. Wants to be a cognitive therapist eventually!

My youngest is awaiting his college interview, he only applied last week.
