My Golden Retriever was put to sleep a week ago, she was 14 and had been struggling during the last couple of months. We took her to the vets not knowing that this would be her last day. The vet discovered that she had a tumour and she was bleeding internally so he put her to sleep immediately.

I know we were lucky to have her for 14 wonderful years but we were not prepared for the pain her loss would bring. Zoe gave us so much love, she was such a loyal and faithful friend. I have never cried so much in my life (my husband too) even when my parents died the grief was never this bad and I feel guilty saying that.

So sorry for your loss of Zoe.
It is so painful when we loose one of our pets.
I too was the same i cried for days and couldn't do my job.
The memories of your lovely Zoe will soon replace the pain your are going through at the moment.
R.I.P Zoe and run free at rainbow bridge xx

I just wanted to say "thank you" to everyone who left messages, it is a comfort to know that people care. I'm still struggling and I know it's going to take time. I look out of the window and expect to see Zoe in the garden or at the door waiting for me to lift her in and on several occasions during the night I've been convinced I heard her bark.

Take as long as you need, people don't understand the grief of losing a pet but they are like children. Thinking of you.
