How much?! or rather, how little!!?

It's like half of what they've been getting on their previous food. Following MWH advice of start off with the lowest ammount in the ammount it reccomends to feed but it just seems so little... did anyone else think this when you started feeding it? How did you get on?? :)

Willow just looked at me after each meal as if to say, 'is that it?'
They had no hunger sickness through out the night though which usually happens if they go too long between pm and am meal. So i assume that's a good sign :) (We only started on it last night btw) I just feel so mean!

Don't feel mean, believe me you really aren't!

All my dogs are greedy pigs and would look at you like they are starving but with the millies wolfheart, I feed the two bigger dogs the correct amount specified for their age and their, ahem, output is absolutely minimal. They were on Applaws prior to this and they were used to a rich food so swopped over very well indeed. They recommend starting on the minimum amount as lots of dogs can't handle the change over from a grainier food (if you get what I mean) and will get an upset tum.

Flash came to is fed on Beta and you were lucky if his poop even resembled poop. It had to be washed away as it was unpickupable.

We weaned him onto the millies and no improvement, he was at the vets, we started him with dorwest powders and contacted millies repeatedly.

They couldn't be more helpful and told us to cut his food intake to the bare minimum for his weight as the dogs tum can't break down a food overload and this has FINALLY started proper poos.

If your dogs take to the millies well, I would imagine you could then increase the amount, I can't rate it highly enough and just hate that I have to pay p&p.

My pointer boys are fed well under Millies recommended amount although they do have some wet or raw as well. Colt gets 65g of Countryside twice a day with 50g of wet and Arthur gets 85g + wet. It doesn't look much in the bowl I have to admit but it seems to be enough as they are not losing weight.

Thanks guys :)

Willows getting just under the reccomended feeding ammount at 250g per day (minimum for her weight is 275g) but that's because she's still a little chunkier than i'd like and OH is naughty with treating her anyway

Kyzers minimum says 365g so i rounded it to 370g to make it easier to weigh out 175g per meal.

Will just have to see how we get on then i can adjust if needed :) Poops are what i expected after reading the MWH guide so no worried about that at the mo :)

My boy 27.5kg black lab is only meant to have around 350g per day but he was getting very skinny after speaking to mark its now upped to around 450g per day i was told to keep an eye on output and when that began to change (soft n sloppy ) he was having too much ....ive now learnt that guidance is just that and to play around with allowances till i find the right level unfortunately that means we are going through the food like nobody's business

Ive found a new grain free one and sixstar advised that its a green food i can get it local for ÂŁ29.99 for 12kg and no delv so have bought a 2kg bag for ÂŁ7.99 to try as the amount im feeding means the mwh isnt lasting

I saw that food on the other thread, I think an independent pet food shop close to where we sometimes take the dogs for a special walk sells it.

It would be far more economical to feed it but I am going to hold out for a few months as Flash's stomach has only just settled down and then give it a whirl as including the p&p, millies is working out really expensive.

Holly has the the max amount, 170g a day roughly, some days it might be 180g, plus about 200g of wet a day. Never had a problem, but she was on Applaws and Purizon before so is used to it. She has countryside, she is trying the salmon one next.

Ted doesn't often get it, he prefers wet. Last time he picked around the kibble and just ate the wet . It has nothing to do with Millie's, like I said he just prefers wet.
