Hello, I am in the process of setting up an aviary. I currently have 3 canaries (who now have 8 eggs between them) and the cage they are in is far too small if all those eggs hatch and survive. So I have bought an aviary which is 9' x 3' x 6'. I was wondering what other types of birds could I keep with the canaries in an aviary that size.

I know I could keep finches but they dont deal well with cold weather and budgies are right out as they are aggressive. I've read that a pair of cockatiels might be okay, do are there any others?

    thank you in advance
    Jo

    How about bourkes?
Most grass parakeets are pretty docile, although individuals vary.

And depending on where you live, you might be able to keep zebra finches.
Mine are outside in a tin shed and it was -3 degrees last night...

Zebras are a very hardy bird, although it may be too cold where you live..

    Also have you considered quails?
