I'm trying to see if this is a joke. It must be!

It's not in law yet. http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/...cle_95d3182d-f65b-56ea-8a9d-e7b7e1b0ab1e.html

It's one Governor who has called a special session in the State's House of Representatives and has yet to get passed by the Missouri Senate and, even if they pass it, it will most likely get stopped by the Federal Authorities as it has been before.

I think I have that correct. I may have the details of the process wrong but I'm sure an American PFer can put me right.

I thought it sounded too far fetched to have gone all the way through. Even so, stunning that people think that it's an acceptable bill to put forward. I do love that the women turned up in Handmaids' outfits.

How would employers or landlords know if a woman is using birth control?

And would the same apply to men using condoms or having vasectomies?

Probably not. It used to be that while a man could claim adultery as grounds to divorce his wife, the wife had to prove adultery and cruelty. There has always been one law for men and one for women. I don't see an administration this primitive being any different.

i suspect that employees would have to tell employers on job applications etc.

But if you fib, then there's no way of checking it. And no doctor is allowed to share that information, so it's all a little silly really.

From a couple of other articles I've read, the one guy keeps trying to get this into law. He seems a little obsessed on the subject.

I don't know what goes on in the heads of many Republican men. They seem far too preoccupied with women's bits.

I can't imagine even considering discussing with my boss or my landlord whether I used contraception, have had or considered having an abortion or even whether I am sexually active. It would be a brave boss or landlord who would even ask - I can feel one of my "looks" coming on :Finger:Finger

I'm sure that could also, easily, come under the sexual harassment banner

The best way to deal with those sorts of questions is to call the person asking them a filthy pervert who wants details about your sex life and threaten to report them to the police for having such a grubby mind :Shifty

I agree. If someone asked me that on an application form, I think they would be told to mind their own business. Last time we were in the States, which was twelve years ago, in a book of rules I read that in one state (can't remember which one) it is illegal to have sex with a virgin. Again, I ask: How would they know?

In this country, yes, but other places have some strange rules.

Then how does anyone stop being a virgin? Do they have to go out of state?
