My little girl, Smartie, didn’t come home last night :-( Fed her after work then went out training and haven’t seen her since. I shouted and scoured the streets last night but no sign. The last time she didn’t come home when expected she had got herself shut in next door’s garage so trying not to panic. I live on a quiet dead end street with allotments opposite (where she hangs out) so put a sign up asking people to look out for her but can’t do much else now. Feeling so helpless and need to go to work now

I think lots of cats are staying out now the weather is improving then turning up with no idea of the worry they cause. Let's hope she is back by the time you get home from work or someone sees her as you've been quick to put up signs.

Try not to worry. Lola has actually missed several meals which worried me the first time it happened, but a couple of times I have seen her asleep on a neighbour's garage in the shade of a tree.

When my lot free roamed, Jasper would often go missing. My neighbours had quite a collection of 'please check your garages and sheds' slips from me.

Perhaps that might be an idea?

That’s my plan now I’m at work so have access to a printer! Hoping she will be back by the time i’m Home and have left food in her chipped feeder because if she has been locked in, she’ll be starving. Small mercy that she had dinner last night so has only missed breakfast.

Hopefully she will be home when you return today. They like being out in this lovely weather and she may be busy hunting. If she is home when you return, perhaps keep the printed messages for a possible next time? If she isn’t back, it’s more effective to knock and ask neighbours than to put notes through doors. It’s definitely worth knocking the neighbours doors either side of your home, at minimum.

Hope she shows up soon. I sometimes think that cats are on this earth just to worry us half to death. Give her a good talking to when she comes back, followed by hugs and kisses. Fingers crossed x

Actually, have you ever listened to yourself and what you say when they stroll in after a lengthy absence? ''THERE you are Hamlet, Mummy has been looking for you since Mon/Tues/Wed etc (delete which is not applicable); bad boy!'' All received with a look of disdain and possibly a lick of the ginger back end.

The weather is warm and cats often stay out longer. I'm sure she will return soon. x

No sign yet but I guess most won’t be back from work yet. Have spoken with a few neighbours and people at the allotments and put her tray and a throw outside so her scent is around.
