We had 2 ctas from the rspca and they both got out after 7 days.

We managed to get one back in using a trap and he is all settled in again. but the other one has been out now for 10 days and we last saw him on sunday in the neighbours garden at 11pm.

They wont let us use the trap and so it is in our garden now, but it doesnt get any use.

I have done leaflets to 60 houses in the area and am thinking of widening my search with posters on lamp posts.

what tips does anyone have for finding a lost cat ?

*sings* "Love is in the air, everywhere I look around!"

If you haven't yet I'd get knocking on peoples doors and asking them to check their greenhouses and sheds. Even when you stand and ask them directly though some won't!

Put a poster up in your window, and if you have a car parked on the road in that window too. These got a lot of attention when my cat went missing, nosey people!

Call the RSPCA, cats protection, local vets, council (as awful as it sounds to see if he's been knocked down), and any other cat type societies he may have been handed into in the area.

Walk around the area with a box of cat biscuits shaking them and calling his name. Be prepared to attract every cat in the neighbourhood. :p

Those are what I did, and he randomly showed up a couple of nights later.

With him being a new cat I'm not sure if he will know your smell yet but you could try emptying the contents of your vaccuum cleaner on the lawn or leaving out a box with a worn jumper in for him to curl up into.

This is all on the when your cats gone missing list but it's still fresh in my mind when Leo did so thought I'd share anyway!

There's another thread at the moment about an indoor kitty that's enjoying the high life about the town at the moment, you might find some good tips in there too. I hope he shows up and is back with you soon. =]

    Hi

I was just wondering...you say you caught him in a trap - did u use a humane trap and where did you get it from?? My cat has been missing for 4 weeks tonight and I miss her soooo much! she has only been spotted once but someone thinks they may have seen her last night!! I'm at my wits end and if the trap worked for you, maybe it will for me!!

so glad for you that you got him back! let's hope my Tilly comes home soon :( xx
