After a long and exciting wait, Milo is finally at his new home. He had a lil sniff around whilst Zeus was outside then Zeus came in, and the introduction began. Zeus was abit boistrous and Milo was shaking a lil bit, but after some stern words to Zeus he calmed down abit. Took Zeus outside and then put Milo in his cage. Let Zeus back in to get to sniff him while puppy was in the cage.

Milo is now zonked out on his bedding, and Zeus is laying by the cage and also pacing it, crying lol.

Have to see how tonight goes :/
What is the best way to introduce a bouncy dog to a puppy?
My dad was going to take Zeus out for a long walk, but he hasn't had his latest booster so I would rather not risk the puppy getting anything.

Reason for why we didn't get it done, is because we can get a discount to have Zeus, Milo and Phoebe all done at the same time, so my mum said we'd do that.

    Thanks,

*Pictures will follow as soon as the puppy knows the home and Zeus isn't so bouncy*

If I let Milo out in the garden, could I put Zeus on his lead to sort of introduce them? That way if Milo wants to go and hide he can without Zeus chasing him.

Also should I do Milo's first feeding in the cage?

I think its better to have them both on leads, and then let them off.

Also I would do his first feeding where he will be fed through his life, start as you mean to go on, best of luck x

Milo is absolutely gorgeous, congratulations on your new arrival!! :)

I think the idea of walking Zeus first to get rid of some of his energy is good, on the subject of his booster you have an 18month window with all boosters so you can go over by 6months from the due date and your dog is still covered. I researched this when i was a veterinary nurse and the animal health trust and cambridge vet school did a lot of research into it. The vets send reminders every 12 months but actually your dog would be covered if vaccinated every 18 months apparently!!

If you're still not happy with Zeus going out first, i am sure as long as there is somewhere for the pup to retreat to that is small enough for him but not Zeus you should be able to supervise a play session. When we got Logan we let Matrix into the garden with him and stayed very close to them both, Logan found that he could fit under my chair for a bit of a break but of course Matrix couldn't!! LOL. It all worked well even though Matrix is very bouncy and energetic!

Spose I'm just worried of Zeus' paws, as he is fairly full on and likes to use his paws.

    awwwwwww he is adorable.

one thing i would say is try not to over protect milo from zeus as you could then be reinforcing the fear behaviour in him.

Well the puppy woke up and I opened the cage door and let Zeus come over to sniff and lick the puppy, then Milo came out and they both wandered up the garden, Milo done a few jumps of excitement, one while Zeus was running towards him. But if I click my fingers Zeus seems to respond and calm down.

So all-in-all on their second full on encounter Zeus done really well :D

Milo is now back in the cage having a rest and gave Zeus some biscuits for being a good boy :)

Milo is so cute - slakey you sure you won't take the offer of me having him? LOL

Don't worry about Zeus - i can see you've done the right thing in the garden. With any luck he won't have any problems with Milo. There may be times were Milo may be a bit too much for him and he might snap (speaking from experience here) but just supervise the situation. Hopefully he won't attack Milo but he can somewhat warn him not to annoy him but just supervise the situation.

Hope Milo doesn't give you a sleepless night! More pics please

    Again he's adorable! LOL
