My dads rottie was long coated and she was gorgous but it was the way people treated her that was supprising they wanted to fuss her instead of crossing the road The longer coat made her expression softer even when she talked people werent worried with her. Please post lots of pictures i miss Saffie

    Awwwh he's lovely.
Changing his name will make no difference.
I mean, if a dog ends up in rescue (stray) they have to give him a new name.
Dogs actually learn a new name pretty quickly, as long as you associate it with something yummy, and use it while giving him commands he already knows, like putting the new name infront of 'sit', etc.

aawww bless him :D I love Rotties, I think the bad press they get is completely wrong.

There's one on my block at work and he is the most gentle dog there.... all the others go mad, barking and lunging at the kennel doors and spinning around and everything, but Ben just quietly sits in his bed looking up at you with really lovely soulful eyes, and he'll always make the effort to come up to you for a stroke :( i'd love to own a rescue rottie some day :)
