Well we are almost at the three week stage and Mia's behaviour towards Mylo is changing all the time.
For the first week she just didn't want him here. She seemed scared stiff of him and our major problem was getting her to come into our accommodation at all if he was there.
During the second week she was snarling and snapping as long as there were bars between them but avoiding him if there wasn't by running away when he went up to her. As long as he was safely in his playpen she would go over to him to observe him for a while then start to tell him off when he was up at the bars right next to her.
Over this last week she has actively been making contact with him when he isn't behind bars. Over the last three days she has been pinning him by the throat every time they come in contact. Just gently and not closing on his throat. He doesn't cry out and doesn't avoid her. In fact he generally still goes towards her with only the odd occasion where she has approached him. She is making the same sounds that she has made when playing with other dogs (although she is generally silent when she plays). Mylo's signalling has been very good from the start and he immediately does all the submissive stuff when Mia tells him off or pins him. He has never appeared scared of her.
Right now he is in his playpen and she is up on the sofa hanging over the edge of his pen. Mylo is licking and chewing her face and she is mumbling and pecking at him but very gently. They are batting each other with their paws but it feels all relaxed and neither is making any sounds.
Does all this sound like positive progress is being made?

That sounds like very good progress :)

When we first got Dan Tummel didn't really want much to do with him, he wouldn't allow Dan to lie down with him, play with him, get fussed with him etc etc but he was very watchful and would follow Dan round the living room....it took a week before Tummel would sit close to Dan and it's only now at 7 months that Dan is allowed to lie beside him and not get grumbled at( Tummel wouldn't tolerate Dan lying with him but he snuggles with Shraps Dino...go figure lol).

Tummel used to pin Dan when he was fed up of being nipped by puppy teeth ;) It sounds like Mia might be trying to play with Mylo which is excellent!!!

All sounds very positive to me and in just three weeks that's very good.

Some of mine have taken months to accept a newcomer.

Mia does seem to want to like him now but she is also being a bit of a cow. Just after I posted they were still playing nicely with Mia hanging her head into the playpen so Mylo could lick her face and they could bat each other. She then went off and picked up a rawhide chew and dangled that in front of him but seriously growled and snapped when he tried to take it. This went on for a full 5 minutes and only stopped when she went off and picked up a kermit toy and did the same with that. Bless him, after a couple of minutes of being wound up with the new toy he just looked at her, turned round and curled up to go to sleep. He's learning :D
