That's his pet rock - dug up from under water all by himself, and carried proudly for about half an hour.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed them :)

We went out at about 4.20am, sky just starting to look lighter (although at this time of year depending on where you live - we are far south in Hampshire - the sky never gets completely black at night). Birds all in full shout, glorious to hear the dawn chorus especially as there are so many birds on the common. It's about a mile away, a nice walk, but the sun wasn't yet coming up when we got there.

The first sunrise pic was taken at 5.03 (don't you just love digital cameras!) of the sun rising in the distance - from behind Beacon Hill (aka The Trundle) on the South Downs near Chichester.

    Second sunrise pic was 5.18.

The flower pics & swan pics were taken before sunrise about 4.45-ish.

"Ginger Doggy" pics were later, about 5.45.

On the way home we spoilt a fox's breakfast - he was hiding behind a tree hoping to go for some bunnies grazing on the other side but scarpered when he saw us!

And I am convinced Merlin is defective...lol.... must have been dropped on his head as a puppy, as he has NO interest in chasing rabbits (or foxes) at all! Weird dog! But swans are a different matter - I guess as a sheepdog, that's about right - they're white!

My dog is obessed with stones/rocks! I have to keep him away from them because one of his previous owners allowed him to actually play with them pretty much all the time, like throwing them for him to get :frown:. So his teeth are been worn down.

On a lighter note! Great pictures! And Merlin looks very happy with his precious rock LOL!!!

Lovely dog and lovely pics, wish I had time in the morning to go for an early morning stroll like that.

I also wished I lived near the seaside too :D
