A little update, and shameless boasting, about Matilda.

Matilda is our 7 month old rescue Staffy. As some of you know, she did not have a good start in life having been found in a park, in a bucket full of bleach (and something else unidentified) which had burned off all her fur and left her partially blind. Back then, she looked like this:

This weekend, we went camping to a dog event called 'Borders Out West' (we have a Border, so off we went to a BT show ...). On the Saturday, there was a general dog show, and we thought we'd enter Matilda. She got:

    - 2nd Best Puppy
    - 1st Best Rescue
    - Best in Show (out of ten-ish classes)

All a bit of fun of course, but I think it shows just how far she's come. The little dog we brought home that lived under the sofa for a few weeks being scared of all noises looked quite happy all weekend. Here are photos:

    Happy Matilda:

    Looking like a wasp:

    A happy camper:

She even had a little go at agility:

Her winning rosettes (and stash she won!):

Best in Show Rosette and small plaque:

And uhm, because the overall theme was supposed to be a BT show (until Matilda went and stole it!), our wee Scrabble looking a happy camper:

She has about 70-80% vision in both eyes which is brilliant when you think the vet was considering whether to remove one! The scarring is in the line of vision, but she certainly whizzes around confidently. We think she doesn't see small things as attempting to teach her 'catch' usually results in the biscuit bouncing off her head!

Oh yes, Maggie (her sister) was adopted by a lovely couple near the rescue and is also doing well. They are probably going to have a playdate together over the summer :)
