and everything has been wiped from it.....

    just one question

    WHY?

you evil scum. What can you honestly get from disrupting a rescue site from rehoming dogs.

All the dogs can be seen here until the site is up and running again

i'd guess that they were after peoples credit card details etc, same as when they hack any other site. Not saying that makes it ok but i doubt the purpose of the hack was simply to deprive animals of homes.

Must admit it never occured to me about credit card details on a dog rescue site, not thinking about donations etc on line, see what you mean though.

well im no hacker or anything, but i THINK what they do is run scans on thousands of web addresses/IPs and when they find one with no/poor security they target it with a hack. It's quite possible they dont even know what the site pertains to when they begin.

How do you know it's been hacked, when I visit the website address it just says the website is unavailable due to the bandwidth being exceeded. That has nothing to do with hacking.

Or am I using the wrong address?

I am a friend on the organizations FB page and they posted a status saying that's what has happened and that they hope to have the site up and running again as soon as possible. I hope they had everything backed up.

Welshie, I don't think they know who did it, it may be like porps has said or it may be someone with a grudge.

Many Tears website is back up and running, Sylvia and the team posted this message at the top of the page

Many Tears apologises that our site was shut down. Webs put a standard explanation up as to why this happened and we had no control over the wording. However as you can see the site is now back, although in need of some updating, and this matter is now in the hands of the police. If anyone sees anything inappropriate on our site please take a screen shot or copy of it and send to us at sw.vanatta@virgin.net

I'm glad they've got it sorted and hope the dogs waiting soon find new homes.

There's a gorgeous Scottie called Hamlet who I would have seriously considered if Ty wasn't so anti social
