When we are out and about with our dogs.. We meet many.. And I guess we all have our own ideas of what types/breeds these are.. I guess sometimes are thoughts are way out and we are not always right..

Now if you did get chatting to someone whilst out and they told you there dog was a whatever.... But you thought it didn't really fit the description or height or colour or something wasn't right....

Would you stand there and tell them they were wrong..

Or would you get into convo with them and see what their thought were.. And if they differed from what they had been told...

Or would you smile politely and just say how nice their dog was.. :)

I would discuss it with them, def if it was a lurcher.

I hate it when people Tell me what my dogs are, I dont mind talking about it but hate being told - if you see what i mean ;)

I went with 2 & 3. If I thought it looked like a different breed was in there, I'd ask them if they'd ever considered it/'my, they really look like they have a bit of JRT in them'. But I could care less about breeds if I'm honest, I tend to just focus on what they're behaving like and any conversation will be about that :)

    Depends on the breed...

If they told me it was a breed and I really thought otherwise, I would say ''really?? because he looks so much like a ' and then what breed I thought it was.

I met someone with a dog they rescued and was told he was a jrt. I said Im sure he is a mini pincher, well they went home and looked up loads of info and next time said they and the vet agreed. Lol

But I know someone with 2 'springers' one is definitely more sprocker, and the other could easily be a sprollie but not going to say cause they are so proud with their springers :) lol.

Discuss politely if it clearly wasn't what they thought it was. Preferably while stroking said dog if they're friendly

it would depend, I might just smile and agree but if they were chatty I might drop some hints and see what comes up.
It is so easy to get things wrong. I had put it around that I was in the market for a collie and the vets phoned me and said they had a 4 month collie in to be put down and was I interested. I hadnt the heart to say it was not a pure collie but took her anyway. Now I could have gone round for every saying my obvious collie/JR was a pure collie because the vet said so! Owner that dont know dog breeds will believe what they are initially told.
